Do colleges look at 12th grade AP's???

it just hit me that AP exams are taken in may. then what is the point of taking any AP cles in my senior year? won't i get my scores AFTER i have been accepted to a certain college? this means that they will see it only after having made a decision.does it have any effect? plz hlp....
