Why do people like country so much?

my gf loves country, and i cant stand it. not trying to troll, but the guitar is RLY annoying, the guy vocalists voices r too deep, the chick vocalists sound like the guitar, and my gf says that the songs tell a story about life, but rock does a better job. rock music is like a refined version of country. and another q, why do country lovers hate rock?
