Need help to make reappear my hidden files!?

When I go to a folder and click Tools> Folder options> View> Show hidden files and folders> Press ok, my files remain hidden still.If I follow the above steps once again,I can see that "Do not show hidden folders"box is selected and it hasn't changed its position to "show hidden files and folders".How can I make reappear my hidden files and folders?My two other computers got affected already by this same problem.Hope somebody can help me .Thanks!
