I'm scared my mother is dying. HELP !?

Okay let me tell you a little about my mother. She is a 40 year old African American, she is overweight for her average weight & 5'8'', she has four kids but only two are alive (me and my sister), and yeah that's it. So my mother has been having l bleeding (well she says period) for about 2 months! She had this before and it was for 6 weeks I believe and it stopped and then she started having her regular periods again. She says it's easing up but she says she feels like all the energy is being sucked out of her and that she is dying slowly. And of course I don't want my mother to die ! Yeah the doctor gave her some birth control pills and she says it might be finished and she's having her monthly period. But I just want my mother to go back to her normal fun self. When she walks up the stairs she has to quickly run to her bedroom to catch her breath. She says the heat just makes it worse. And it's summer and we want to go to amusement parks & water parks and stuff, and next month we are going to Trinidad and she wants to go to the beach and just have fun. When will this stop I am very worried about her and I don't want her to die. Has any other woman experienced this. Also she said that her aunt went into menopause at 42 so maybe she is going into it to but how will she when she is constantly bleeding !? Thank you.
