Heat n glo fire place with a gas line, is it a wood burning fireplace?

You can use it as a wood burning fireplace; that "log thing" is the grate.....do not use the gas to start a wood fire - not a good idea..........and be sure that the flue is open before you start any type of fire ( the flue is that metal flap part way up the chimney - controlled by a metal handle which you can easily see ) - and needs to be open so that the fumes and smoke go out the chimney and not into the house
