Are we all either leaders or followers or all leaders?

I ask this because in life we are all our own persons, who choose individually who we are, what we like, and what our beliefs are. I can guarantee no 2 people have exactly the same characteristics and personalities as each other. As much as we might choose something over another option does not mean we have necessarily chosen a travelled path because in actuality we migrate our prior mentality and beliefs into that scenario, therefore it has not been exactly the same route. Do we lead our own lives in hope to lead others or do we actually lead others? I am sure we have all lead someone to some enlightenment or goal in someway at sometime. Your thoughts?
